Your Trees, Our Expertise – A Partnership in Preservation.

ArborShield™

Plant Health Care

(Tree & Shrub)

Our comprehensive plant health care program involves monthly or seasonal monitoring and/or speciality treatment of your trees and/or shrubs throughout the growing season. With an integrated pest management (IPM) built in, ArborShield provides both fundamental protection and select specialty treatments based on your property’s individual needs.

It is widely known that trees with nutrient deficiency will primarily focus energy on new growth while ignoring threats of pest infiltration and disease by pathogens. By the time a tree begins to exhibit significant branch loss, root rot or other obvious signs of distress, it is often too late to address the problematic pest or reverse the effects of a wood decay pathogen and the tree must be removed. In other situations, a tree will “mine” for nutrients by aggressively growing roots through foundations, sidewalks and driveways. Providing nutrients at the root base and proper root pruning can avoid thousands in damage. These are just 2 examples of the necessity of tree preservation treatment. Trees are an amenity to your property, as such they carry significant value. Properly caring for them not only saves in the cost of potential removal but it insures the value of the investment in your property.

Our Services

Tree Preservation Planning

Tree Preservation Planning

Trees add significant amenity value to your landscape.  Construction impact/damage and the influence of civilization are the leading causes of tree failure/mortality among new communities.  We write Tree Preservation Plans (TPP) to mitigate risk and protect your most valuable assets.

Pruning & Trimming

Pruning & Trimming

Pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure.  It is important to adhere to the ANSI A300 (Part 1) -Pruning Standard to mitigate risk and encourage tree health and vigor.  Pruning can vary based on species, health, location, season, and objectives.

Hazardous Tree Removal

Hazardous Tree Removal

Trees become hazardous for many reasons including the development of cavities, disease, infestation, hallows and structural defects.  We perform tree removals according to the ANSI Z133.1 Safety Standard to mitigate risk.

Tree Risk Assessments

Tree Risk Assessments

We can provide Tree Risk Assessments (TRA) when permits are necessary to remove hazardous trees.  If you are concerned with the health or stability of your tree, we will conduct a Basic Tree Risk Assessment (BTRA) to help in determining it’s Risk Rating and provide recommendations.

If a hazard is timely detected, mitigation can often lead to preservation.  However, if the tree is determined hazardous, then we will assist through the entire permitting process based on municipal requirements.

Tree Inventory

Tree Inventory

We love managing your trees!  In fact we love it so much we developed our own proprietary cloud-based application to conduct inventories and monitor your tree data.

Our tree inventory application allows us to identify species, collect measurements, images, and other resourceful data points to provide you with the most comprehensive plan available to manage the trees in your yard, landscape or urban forest.  This data is often used to assist you and the Arborist in addressing the best possible recommendations available.

Tree & Landscape Appraisals

Tree & Landscape Appraisals

Trees are highly valuable organisms.  Many grand trees are often appraised at nearly a million dollars.  Even small tree specimens can add several thousand dollars in amenity value to your landscape.  If your tree has been damaged, then there are often many options available to you to recoup those losses and be made whole.  Marshall Badeaux, President, is a member of the first group of Consulting Arborists in the nation to become a Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualified Arborist (TPAQ).

Bracing & Cabling

Bracing & Cabling

Tree cabling was developed in the early 1900’s as an alternative to cutting down cherished and historic trees. Tree cutters (often moonlighting utility workers) discovered that common steel utility wire, strung between branches could help keep wind and heavy ice from peeling trees apart, often isolating damage to above the cable. In time, this process became increasingly popular as an alternative to removing middle-aged “oddly shaped” trees and, as a sort of insurance policy for nearby structures.

Vegetation Management

Vegetation Management

We offer a wide variety of skilled operators and machinery to assist in accomplishing your vegetation management, forestry cutter, bush-hogging, or land clearing goals. Charleston, SC is a very tropical area with fast growing trees and vegetation alike. When managing small parcels to vast plantations, Mother Nature can get out of hand in just a few growing seasons. When the tree situation feels overwhelming, we have a solution to all your vegetation management needs.

Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding

Stump grinding removes all remnants of tree stumps from your property, making your land more attractive and safe. All sizes and quantities of stumps can be removed, so you don’t need to worry about whether or not the job in question is too big to be handled. Our stump grinding service uses professional grade equipment that allows a stump to be removed with precision without causing any damage to surrounding trees, plants, or landscaping. Grinding stumps below your existing grade allows for effective repair and replanting of the area.

Our Work

We invest in only the best tools available to provide you with the greatest level of quality and satisfaction.

Our Customer Reviews

At Charleston Tree Experts, we view satisfactory customer service as the direct result of superior communication, a core value. We believe communication bridges the gap to understanding and carrying out each of our customer’s needs. By adequately communicating the best tree care practices, customers and arborists alike are able to establish objectives and surpass expectations:

Every step of this process was perfect. The evaluation was thorough, thoughtful and not pushy (we met with other companies in the estimating stage, and some were pretty aggressive and sales-y). The communication was just right. And then, the workers themselves -- really professional, really pleasant, and very thoughtful about protecting the rest of our lawn. They took down a massive tree from over the fence in the backyard, and had to bring everything out to the street. After cleanup, you couldn't even tell we'd had any work done. There wasn't a leaf or blade of grass out of place. HIGHLY recommend!

Cheri Bonner

I had the Charleston Tree Experts do some preventative maintenance on some trees that hang over my home. They are professional, good communicators and are great to work with. I am very happy with the job they did and will be using them again. I highly recommend Charleston Tree Experts for any arbor needs!
